New hair-do and a nap

On Friday I got my hair cut and colored. I love having my hair washed by someone other than me. It feels soooo good! I love my hair. Simone (the hairstylist) added some more blonde and gave me some shape. It's still long with layers, but now I have side-swept bangs. I love it!
Today after church I baked a cake and then took a little nap. So nice! I take a nap pretty much every Sunday. I love my Sunday naps. I usually just curl up in the chair in our family room and sleep while everyone else just does their thing. Sometimes I actually make it to my bed. I watched a little bit of Planet Earth on Discovery channel but since we are DVR-ing it, I am now watching Celtic Woman on PBS. I love the little lady that plays the fiddle and runs around the stage! I need to go give myself a manicure and then get to bed. I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow night.

I think of myself as a girl who loves clothes and has a lot. But then I look in my closet. I have about 1/3 of the clothes and shoes that David does. That's bad. Just bad. What kind of girl am I? I've got to fix this. I religiously watch "What Not to Wear". I think that might have been the catalyst to my shrinking closet. I keep getting rid of the things that I don't love (and don't fit quite right), but I don't have the $5000 Bank of America card or Stacy and Clinton helping me shop. So, I take the information I've gleaned in the 3 years I've watched the show and clean out my closet. I start work on Monday and yes, it's in a school library, so I don't have to dress up, but I do need to wear something other than jeans. I went shopping today to restock the closet. I especially need "bottoms". I came home with a pair of shoes, four blouses/shirts, two paper lanterns for the girls' beach themed room and a large woven "beach bag" to hang in their room (to house the stuff they don't have time to put away before leaving for school). Ummmm...did you notice that I did not list skirts, capris, pants or trousers? That's a problem. I tried Old Navy, Ross and Target. I'm going to have to break down and go to Ann Taylor Loft. I love the store but I have a hard time paying that much for clothes. I'm a "sale" girl (thanks Mom!). Oh well...a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do!!!

I got the librarian job! I'm going to be the librarian at Arroyo Elementary. Yeah! I'm so excited about it! I've been anxious since I found out about the job. I will be working 4 days a week, 5 hours per day. I absolutely LOVE the library. This will be a perfect job for me :) So excited, so excited, so EXCITED!

I hope everyone is having a very nice Easter. I haven't downloaded my pictures from this morning, so no Easter pics! Dallin and David have been taking long bike rides on Saturdays (40-70 miles). The top picutre is from one of their rides to the beach (Newport Beach, I think). The next one is the kids at the Irvine Zoo and the bottom one is from Knott's Berry Farm right after we eat delicious BBQ chicken and ribs, baked potatoes, coleslaw and garlic toast! Yummy!

ahhh...spring break!

It's the second day of spring break for the kids. We spent 3 1/2 hours yesterday and 2 hours today at the pool. The kids play in the water and I rest, read and eat snacks! I love it! Yesterday, before going to the pool, we went to a little tiny bookstore that is part of our library. They sell books that have come off of the shelves and also books donated by people specifically for the bookstore. There are several shelves of 10 cent books and lots of 25- and 50-cent books. They also sell some for $1-2. It was really fun! The kids and I found some great treasures. Definitely a place we will be going back to.
